Travertine is a rock formed in karst areas by deposits of calcium carbonate that is dissolved in water. This natural stone is widely used as an ornamental stone in construction, both for exteriors and interiors, since it has decorative characteristics and great resistance and durability. Much of the monuments and churches of ancient Rome are built with travertine.
Today, travertine is a stone widely used as an ornamental rock in construction, remodeling and fitting out, and it is marketed in open pore, covered pore, with transparent resin inlays or special cement. It has parallel layers with small yellow and white cavities, translucent and with a soft and elegant appearance, which makes it very desirable in the world of interior decoration. Likewise, travertine has many aesthetic qualities that allow its use to be extended for cladding, interior flooring (generally aged or polished) and for exteriors.
